Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Submitting a New Request
Log in to Sequifi. You'll land on your dashboard after signing in.
Click on "Requests & Approvals" in the left-hand menu. This is located near the bottom of the menu, just above the Support tab.
Click on the "My Requests" tab. This shows all requests you've submitted and lets you create new ones.
Click the "Request" button. This opens the form where you'll enter the details of your request.
Select the type of request from the dropdown. Choose the option that best describes what you need:
Advance – Money given to you now that will be repaid from future paychecks
Draw – Similar to an advance, typically paid back from future commissions
Reimbursement – Money paid back to you for expenses you covered out of pocket
Bonus – A request for a bonus that may have been missed or promised
Payroll Dispute – A request to review or correct something on your pay
Search for and select the employee name. In most cases, this will be your own name. Start typing and select yourself from the dropdown.
Enter the amount you are requesting. Type the dollar amount you need. Be accurate, as this is what your manager will review.
Add a brief description. Explain why you're making this request. For example:
"Requesting advance on pipeline to cover rent"
"Reimbursement for rental car during training week"
"Missed bonus from September contest"
The more detail you provide, the easier it is for your manager to understand and approve your request.
Upload a supporting document (if needed). If you're requesting a reimbursement, you may need to attach a receipt or invoice. Click the upload button and select the file from your computer.
Click "Submit." Your request is now sent to your manager or admin for review.
Verify your request appears in the list. After submitting, you should see your request in the My Requests tab with a status of "Pending."
Understanding Request Statuses
After you submit a request, it goes through a review process. You can track where it is by checking the status:
Pending – Your request has been submitted and is waiting for manager review
Approved – Your manager has approved the request
Declined – Your request was not approved (you may want to follow up with your manager to understand why)
Scheduled – The payment has been approved and is scheduled for a future payroll
Paid – The payment has been processed and should appear on your pay stub or as a one-time payment
To see what each status means at any time, hover over the small information icon next to the "Status" column header.
Checking the Status of Your Requests
Go to "Requests & Approvals" in the left-hand menu.
Click on the "My Requests" tab. You'll see a list of all requests you've submitted.
Review the status column. Each request shows its current status so you know where it stands.
Use the search or filter options to find a specific request. If you have many requests, you can search by type or date to find what you're looking for.
Click on a request to view more details. You can see the full description, amount, and any notes from the reviewer.
Viewing Approved Requests
Once a request is approved, it moves through the process toward payment.
Click on the "Approvals" tab. This tab shows requests that have been reviewed and processed.
Look for your approved requests. You'll see requests that were approved, scheduled, or paid.
Check when payment will occur. Approved requests are typically paid on the next payroll or as a one-time payment, depending on how your company handles them.
Where Approved Payments Appear
Depending on the type of request and how your company processes it, approved payments will show up in different places:
Regular payroll – Advances, bonuses, and adjustments often appear on your next regular pay stub under the Adjustments or Reimbursements section
One-time payments – Some payments, especially draws and reimbursements, may be paid separately and will appear in the One-Time Payments section of your pay stub history
If you're not sure where to look, check both your regular pay stubs and the One-Time Payments tab in the Reports section.
Types of Requests Explained
Advance An advance is money given to you before you've earned it, based on expected future commissions. It's essentially borrowing against your future pay. Advances are typically repaid through deductions from upcoming paychecks.
Draw A draw is similar to an advance and is common in commission-based roles. You receive a set amount now, and it gets paid back as you earn commissions. If your commissions don't cover the draw, the remaining balance may carry forward.
Reimbursement A reimbursement pays you back for money you spent out of pocket on approved business expenses. Common examples include travel costs, rental cars, supplies, or training materials. You'll usually need to attach a receipt when submitting a reimbursement request.
Bonus Use this if you believe you were promised a bonus that didn't appear on your pay, or if you won a contest and need the winnings added to your pay.
Payroll Dispute If you think there's an error on your paycheck, such as a missing commission, incorrect amount, or unexpected deduction, submit a payroll dispute. Describe the issue clearly so your manager or admin can investigate.
Tips and Common Mistakes
Be specific in your description. The more detail you provide, the faster your request can be reviewed. Include dates, amounts, and reasons whenever possible.
Attach receipts for reimbursements. Most companies require documentation before approving reimbursement requests. Have your receipt or invoice ready to upload.
Understand that advances are repaid. An advance is not free money. It will be deducted from your future paychecks, so make sure you're comfortable with that before requesting one.
Check your status regularly. Don't assume your request was approved. Check back in the My Requests tab to see if it's been reviewed or if any additional information is needed.
Follow up if your request is stuck. If your request has been pending for a while, reach out to your manager to ask about its status.
One request per issue. If you have multiple requests (such as a reimbursement and an advance), submit them separately so each one can be tracked and processed independently.
Look in the right place for payment. Remember that some payments appear on regular pay stubs and others appear as one-time payments. Check both if you're looking for an approved request.
