Introduction
The Jobber integration lets you approve time entries in Jobber and automatically push them into Sequifi for payroll. This guide walks you through connecting the two accounts and sending your first time entry end to end.
When to Use This
You use Jobber to schedule jobs and track employee time in the field.
You run payroll in Sequifi and want those approved hours to flow in automatically.
You want one source of truth for time worked, without re-keying hours.
You’re setting up a new customer or turning the integration on for the first time.
Before You Begin
You have admin access to both your Sequifi account and your Jobber account.
Your employees exist in both Jobber and Sequifi. The two systems do not sync users, so the same person has to be set up in each.
You know which pay period the time entries belong to.
Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Follow these steps in order. The first twelve get the integration connected. The last six walk through a real time entry so you can see it land in Sequifi payroll.
Step 1. Log in to Sequifi and open the Tools menu
Sign in to your Sequifi account. In the left-hand navigation, click Tools to expand the menu.
What you’ll see: The Tools section opens and shows a list of options, including Integrations+.
Step 2. Click Integrations+ to open the marketplace
Under Tools, click Integrations+. This opens the Integrations marketplace where you can browse everything Sequifi connects to.
What you’ll see: You land on the Integrations marketplace page with categories like Payroll, HR, and more.
Step 3. Find Jobber in the Payroll section
Scroll to the Payroll category. Locate the Jobber tile. This is the integration you’ll be setting up.
What you’ll see: The Jobber card is visible in the marketplace.
Step 4. Click Configure to start the setup wizard
Click the Jobber tile, then click Configure. A short wizard will walk you through connecting your Jobber account.
What you’ll see: The configuration wizard opens.
Step 5. Add a new authentication
Click Add new configuration. This is where you’ll create the secure link between Sequifi and Jobber.
What you’ll see: A form appears asking you to name the configuration and choose an auth type.
Step 6. Name your configuration and click Connect
The authentication type is Jobber OAuth. You can rename it, but most people leave the default name as-is. Click Connect.
What you’ll see: A new browser window opens to Jobber’s login page.
Step 7. Log in to your Jobber account
Enter your Jobber email and password and sign in. Use the admin-level Jobber account you want to pull payroll data from.
What you’ll see: Jobber shows a permissions screen asking whether Sequifi can access your account.
Step 8. Allow Sequifi to access Jobber
Review the permissions. Sequifi needs to view and edit your Jobber account information so it can pull time entries. Click Allow Access.
What you’ll see: Jobber processes the authorization.
Step 9. Confirm authorization completed successfully
Jobber will display a success message confirming the connection.
What you’ll see: You see “Authorization completed successfully.” You can close this browser tab.
Step 10. Verify the green active dot and click Finish
Back in the Sequifi wizard, look for a small green dot next to your authentication — that means the connection is active. Click Finish to save.
What you’ll see: Sequifi saves the configuration and returns you to the marketplace.
Step 11. Confirm the integration is activated
In the Integrations marketplace, Jobber now has a small check mark on its tile. The integration is turned on.
What you’ll see: Jobber shows as active in the marketplace.
Step 12. (Optional) Review the integration logs
At any time, open the integration logs to see when syncs have run and whether they succeeded. This is a good place to check if something ever looks off.
What you’ll see: The logs list each run with a timestamp and status.
Step 13. Switch to Jobber and open a Job
Now let’s push a record through. Log in to the same Jobber account, go to Jobs, and open a job.
What you’ll see: The job detail page opens with its time entries listed.
Step 14. Click New Time Entry
On the job, click New Time Entry to add hours. Make sure the employee you select also exists in Sequifi — the two systems are not user-synced, so the same person has to live in both.
What you’ll see: The time entry form opens.
Step 15. Fill in the time entry and save
Enter the employee, date, hours, and rate. In our example we used 5 hours for Brandon on 4/24 at $40/hour. Click Save Time Entry.
What you’ll see: The time entry is saved and now lives on that job.
Step 16. Go to Timesheets and open Approve Timesheets
From the Jobber menu, go to Timesheets, then Approve Timesheets. Pick the pay period that contains your new entry. You’ll see it listed, along with a banner letting you know your account is integrated with Sequifi.
What you’ll see: Your pending time entry is visible in the approval queue.
Step 17. Click Approve and Sync to Sequifi
Click the Approve and Sync to Sequifi button. This is the button that fires the trigger and sends the approved hours across.
What you’ll see: Jobber confirms with a message like “Logged hours are waiting approval — you’re all caught up.” Your data is now flowing to Sequifi.
Step 18. Run payroll in Sequifi and confirm the hours pulled in
Back in Sequifi, go to Payroll, then Run Payroll. Select the pay period that contains your synced entry. Click into the employee, open Hourly and Salary, and you’ll see the time entry with the job name, clock in/out, duration, and rate. When everything looks right, move on to Finalize Payroll.
What you’ll see: The synced Jobber time entry appears on the employee’s payroll, ready to process.
Tips and Common Mistakes
Users must exist in both systems. There is no user sync between Jobber and Sequifi, so add employees in both places before you sync time.
If a sync ever looks missed, don’t worry. Sequifi re-checks for unsent records roughly every fifteen minutes as a safety net.
You can safely resubmit the same time entry. Sequifi performs an upsert, so the record is updated rather than duplicated, as long as payroll isn’t closed yet.
Always use the Approve and Sync to Sequifi button in Jobber. That’s the action that fires the trigger.
Check the integration logs if a record looks missing. They’ll show exactly when syncs ran and whether they succeeded.
