Understanding Your Role (Rep vs. Manager vs. Admin)

Sequifi gives different users access to different features based on their role, so understanding your role helps you know what you can see and do in the platform.

When to Use This

  • You're new to Sequifi and want to understand what features are available to you

  • You're curious why you can or cannot see certain tabs or options

  • You recently got promoted and want to know what new features you now have access to

The Three Main Roles in Sequifi

Sequifi has three primary user roles. Each role builds on the one before it, meaning managers can do everything reps can do (plus more), and admins can do everything managers can do (plus even more).

Sales Rep

As a sales rep, you have access to everything you need to track your personal sales, earnings, and career progress.

What You Can Do:

  • View your dashboard – See a snapshot of your sales performance and progress toward goals

  • Check your earnings – Access the My Earnings tab to view your commissions, overrides, and pending pay

  • Track your sales – See all your accounts, their statuses, and your sales pipeline

  • View your pay stubs – Access past pay stubs and one-time payments in the Reports tab

  • Submit referrals – Send in leads for potential new hires through the Referrals tab

  • Request advances or reimbursements – Use the Requests & Approvals tab to submit payment requests

  • Edit your profile – Update your personal information, banking details, and tax information

  • View your documents – Access signed agreements like your rep agreement, W-9, and any addendums

  • See your network – View your org chart and see who you're connected to in the system

  • Participate in the Arena – Join competitions, games, and incentives (if enabled for your organization)

What You Will See in the Left Menu:

  • Dashboard

  • My Earnings

  • Arena (if available)

  • Referrals

  • Reports (limited to your personal reports and pay stubs)

  • Requests & Approvals

  • Support

Manager

Managers have all the same access as sales reps, plus additional tools to oversee their team, run their office, and manage hiring.

What You Can Do (in addition to rep features):

  • View team performance – See how each rep on your team is performing, including sales stats and service ratios

  • Access the Hiring tab – View leads, schedule interviews, and onboard new hires

  • Manage the lead pipeline – Move leads through different stages from submission to hire

  • Hire new reps – Send offer letters and guide new team members through onboarding

  • View office reports – See how your entire office is performing, not just your personal sales

  • Approve or review requests – See requests submitted by your team members

  • Create Arena events – Set up competitions, brackets, and incentives for your team (if enabled)

  • Schedule interviews – Assign interview times to leads through the hiring workflow

What You Will See in the Left Menu:

Admin

Admins have the highest level of access in Sequifi. They can see everything across the entire company and have control over system settings, user management, and payroll.

What You Can Do (in addition to manager features):

  • Switch to Admin View – Toggle between your personal view and the company-wide admin view using the "Switch to Admin" button in the upper right corner

  • Access company-wide reports – View sales, payroll, and performance data for the entire organization

  • Run and finalize payroll – Review pending payroll, move negative amounts, and execute pay for all reps

  • Manage all users – Access User Management to view, edit, suspend, or stop payroll for any user in the system

  • Update employment packages – Change a rep's commission structure, transfer them to a new office, or update their organization

  • Create new contracts – Resign reps or issue new agreements without making them go through full onboarding again

  • Set up departments and positions – Create and organize the structure of your company in Settings

  • Configure payroll settings – Set up pay frequencies, custom payroll fields, and override structures

  • Import sales data – Upload sales records from Excel files or add individual sales manually

  • Manage documents and offer letters – Customize what documents are sent during onboarding through Sequadox

  • View the Alert Center – See system alerts for missing information, required approvals, and compliance issues

  • Build integrations – Set up API connections to pull data from other software like CRMs or accounting systems

How to Tell What Role You Have

The easiest way to know your role is to look at what options appear in your left-hand menu and whether you see certain buttons.

  • If you see "Switch to Admin" in the upper right corner, you have admin access. Click it to toggle into the admin view and see company-wide data.

  • If you see a "Hiring" tab with multiple subtabs, you likely have manager access.

  • If you only see My Earnings, Referrals, Reports, and Requests & Approvals, you are a sales rep.

If you're unsure about your role or think you should have access to something you can't see, reach out to your manager or an admin to verify your permissions.

Tips and Common Mistakes

  • Don't panic if you can't find a feature. Some tabs and options are only visible to managers or admins. If you need access to something, ask your manager.

  • Admins should switch views carefully. When you're in Admin View, you're looking at company-wide data. If you want to see your own personal sales or earnings, switch back to the regular view.

  • Managers can't do everything admins can. If you need to run payroll, change someone's commission structure, or access company settings, you'll need admin access or help from an admin.

  • Your role may change over time. If you get promoted, your access in Sequifi should update to reflect your new responsibilities. If it doesn't, let an admin know so they can update your permissions.
