Tips and Common Mistakes
Apply filters before exporting. If you only need data for a specific office or time period, filter first. This creates a smaller, more focused export.
Check your filters. If your export is missing expected data, make sure your filters aren't excluding it. Reset filters and try again if needed.
Export regularly for record-keeping. Don't wait until you need historical data. Export payroll and sales reports regularly (weekly or monthly) and save them for your records.
Name your files clearly. When saving exports, use descriptive names that include the date and content type. For example: "Payroll_Report_September_2025.xlsx"
Organize exports in folders. Create a folder structure to keep your exports organized by type and date.
Verify data after exporting. Spot-check a few records in your export to make sure the data looks correct and complete.
Large exports may take time. If you're exporting a lot of data, the file may take a moment to generate. Be patient and wait for the download to complete.
Use CSV for compatibility. If you need to import the data into another system, CSV format is often more compatible than Excel format.
Common Export Uses
Monthly Payroll Records Export payroll data at the end of each month for accounting records and to track compensation expenses.

Common Questions
What file format do exports come in? Most exports download as Excel files (.xlsx) or CSV files. Both can be opened in Excel, Google Sheets, or other spreadsheet applications.
Can I export data from any time period? Yes, use the date filters to select the time period you want, then export. You can go back as far as your data exists in Sequifi.
Is there a limit to how much data I can export? Very large exports may take longer to generate, but there's typically no strict limit. If you have trouble with a large export, try filtering to smaller chunks.
Can I schedule automatic exports? Currently, exports are manual. You need to go to the report and click export each time. Set a reminder to export regularly if you need ongoing records.
What if my export is empty? Check your filters. You may have filtered too narrowly and excluded all data. Reset filters and try again.
Can I import data back into Sequifi from an export? Exports are for reporting and analysis. If you need to import data into Sequifi, use the import feature in the Sales report with a properly formatted import template.
