    • Escalate technical problems if needed

  4. Verify the alert is resolved. After taking action, the alert should disappear from the list.

  5. Check the Alert Center regularly. New alerts can appear as new issues arise.

Understanding Alert Counts

The red number badge on the Alert Center icon tells you how many total alerts need attention.

  • High numbers indicate many outstanding issues that need resolution

  • Low numbers or no badge means your data is in good shape

  • Numbers that keep growing may indicate a systemic issue that needs addressing

Keeping your alert count low ensures smooth payroll processing and accurate reporting.

Common Alert Types and How to Resolve Them

Missing Tax Information

  • The rep needs to complete their tax setup in their profile

  • Contact the rep and ask them to log in and fill in their SSN or EIN

  • Without this, 1099 reporting will be incomplete

Missing Banking Information

  • The rep hasn't set up direct deposit

  • They won't receive pay until banking is configured

  • Contact them to complete their banking setup

Missing Required Documents

  • The rep hasn't signed required paperwork

  • They need to log in and complete their document signatures

  • Onboarding may be incomplete until resolved

Location Code Issues

  • An account has a location code that doesn't match existing configurations

  • Review the account and either fix the location code or add the location to your setup

Red Line Approval Needed

  • A special commission rate or exception needs approval

  • Review the request and approve or deny it

System Integration Errors

  • Data isn't syncing properly from an external source

  • May require technical investigation or contacting support

Tips and Common Mistakes

  • Check the Alert Center regularly. Make it part of your routine to review alerts at least weekly, or more often during busy periods.

  • Address alerts before payroll. Resolve missing information alerts before running payroll to avoid payment issues.

  • Prioritize by impact. Missing banking information means someone won't get paid. Address high-impact alerts first.

  • Don't let alerts pile up. A large backlog of alerts makes it harder to identify new, important issues.

  • Communicate with your team. If reps have missing information, reach out to them promptly. They may not realize something is incomplete.

  • Investigate patterns. If you see the same type of alert repeatedly, there may be a process issue to fix at the source.

  • Use alerts for compliance. The Alert Center helps ensure everyone has proper documentation and information on file.

Common Questions

Why do I have so many alerts? Alerts accumulate when issues aren't addressed. If you have a large backlog, work through them systematically. Consider whether there's a process improvement that could prevent future alerts.

What happens if I ignore alerts? Depending on the alert type, ignoring them can cause payment delays, incomplete records, compliance issues, or inaccurate reporting.

Can reps see the Alert Center? No, the Alert Center is only visible to admins. Reps can only see their own profile and any notifications about completing their own information.

Do alerts resolve automatically? Some do. For example, if a rep completes their missing tax information, that alert will automatically clear. Others may require admin action to resolve.

How often should I check the Alert Center? At minimum, check before each payroll run. For best results, check daily or several times per week.

What if I don't know how to resolve an alert? Contact Sequifi support for help with alerts you don't understand or can't resolve on your own.
