Understand your overrides

See the overrides you earn, what each override type means, who you earn them from, and how bonuses differ.

An override is pay you earn on someone else's sale, based on how your company has set up overrides (for example, as that rep's recruiter or for an office). Open My Earnings and select Override to see every override you've earned, who it came from, its type, and whether it has been paid.

Who can do this: Workers at companies that pay overrides, when their permission group includes the Override page, for their own overrides. If your company doesn't use overrides, you won't see this page.

See your overrides

  1. Open My Earnings and select Override. The page opens on the Overrides Summary.

  2. Choose a Date Range: Last 12 Months (the default), Last 6 Months, Last 3 Months, Last Month, This Month or Custom.

  3. Pick a type to narrow the list: All Types, Direct, Indirect, Office, Manual, Stack or Manager.

  4. Read the table: ID, Date, Customer, Product, From (the rep whose sale it is), Type, Account Value, Calculation, Status and Override (the amount).

  5. Expand a row with the arrow at the end to see its milestone lines, pay dates and pay status.

The summary cards work like the Commission page: Sales, Projected, Pending, Paid, Clawbacks and Total Overrides. A cancelled sale shows in red with an override of $0.00. The Override page has a table only, no chart view.

Override types

Type

Who gets it

Direct

The selling rep's recruiter, and any additional recruiters listed for that rep.

Office

People who have an office override set for the office the sale belongs to.

Indirect, Manager, Stack

Set by your company's override rules. Ask your admin how they apply to you.

Manual

Added by your company for a specific person.

Your company decides which types it pays and the rates. Your company also sets, for each product, the milestone at which most overrides become payable, so an override may not be paid until the sale reaches that milestone.

If a cancelled sale is eligible for a clawback under your company's product rules, paid overrides are clawed back too. See Why did I get a clawback?

See who you earn overrides from

  1. Select your photo or initials, then View Profile.

  2. Select the Network tab. It lists your overrides grouped as Direct, Indirect, Office, Stack, Manual and Manager. Use Search by name or the product filter to find someone.

  3. Switch from Override to Chart to see your network as a tree. Choose Recruitment for the recruiting tree or Manager for the manager tree.

The Network tab only appears at companies that use overrides. "No Overrides Found" means there are no overrides to show for you.

Bonuses are not overrides

A bonus is paid through a Bonus request or a one-time payment, not through the Override page. It shows on your pay stub under Adjustments or on the One-Time Payment tab. See Request types explained.

On the mobile app

Tap Sales, then Overrides. You see PROJECTED OVERRIDES, TOTAL OVERRIDES and OVERRIDE ENTRIES, with type filters. Each entry reads "Override over:" and the rep's name. Pending overrides also show in Earnings > Pending Pay > Overrides. See Mobile: sales, commissions and overrides.

Common questions

I'm a manager. Why don't I get overrides on my team's sales?

Being someone's manager doesn't by itself earn you an override. Direct overrides go to the rep's recruiter. Manager overrides are paid only if your company uses them. Ask your admin.

An override is missing or the amount looks wrong.

Widen the Date Range and set the type to All Types. If it's still wrong, give your admin the sale ID, the rep's name and the override type. After it's paid, you can submit a Payroll Dispute with the dispute type Overrides.
