A clawback takes back commission or override pay you already received on a sale, most often because the sale was cancelled. It's deducted from a later payroll as a negative amount. Whether a cancelled sale is clawed back depends on the rules your company set for that product.
Who can do this: Workers can see their own clawbacks. Your company's admins set the clawback rules; ask your company admin to review or resolve a disputed clawback.
What causes a clawback
The sale was cancelled. When a cancel date is added to the sale, milestones that weren't paid yet are removed, so nothing more is paid on it. Money you already received is clawed back. That includes pay from payroll, pay put into your reserve, and pay your admin marked as paid outside Sequifi.
The closer on the sale was changed. The previous closer's paid amounts are clawed back and the sale moves to the new closer. This can't happen once the sale's final milestone has been paid.
Overrides on a cancelled sale. Overrides paid on the sale are clawed back too, for everyone who received one.
Lines marked Do Not Pay are never clawed back, because they were never paid.
When a cancelled sale is not clawed back
Your company can protect sales that got far enough. For each product, an admin can choose a Clawback Exempt milestone: "A job that reaches the selected milestone or beyond will not trigger a clawback deduction in the event of a cancel."
You keep what you were paid only if that milestone's date is on the sale, the date is today or earlier, and the sale wasn't cancelled before that date. Otherwise, everything you were paid on the sale is clawed back. Ask your admin which milestone, if any, protects your products.
Where you see a clawback
My Earnings > Commission (or Override): the Clawbacks card ("Pay taken back after cancellation") shows the total as a negative amount. Expand the sale to see the clawback lines in red.
The sale's status changes to Clawback.
My Earnings > Pending Pay: before the payroll it's taken from, it shows as a negative line.
After that payroll runs, the clawback is part of that pay stub.
If the clawback is more than your pay
Your company can't finalize a payroll while your net pay (not counting reimbursements) is negative. Your admin has to resolve it first, for example by moving some amounts to the next payroll. Ask your admin how they'll handle it.
On the mobile app
In Earnings > Pending Pay, tap a card such as Commissions. Clawed-back entries show the Clawback status. See Mobile: pending pay, verifying your pay and paystubs.
Common questions
I think the clawback is wrong.
Ask your company admin to check the sale's cancel date and the product's Clawback Exempt milestone. The cancel date comes from your company's sales data. After the clawback is taken from your pay, you can also submit a Payroll Dispute request with the sale ID. See Submit a request.
The sale was cancelled but I wasn't clawed back.
Either you hadn't been paid on it yet (unpaid milestones are simply removed), or the sale had reached the product's Clawback Exempt milestone.
For admins
Set the Clawback Exempt milestone for each product in the Admin view under Settings > Products. Choose None to claw back every cancelled sale.
