Milestones determine when commission becomes eligible for payroll, and products decide which milestones a sale uses and when clawbacks and overrides apply. Build a milestone schema in the Admin view under Settings > Milestones, then pick it for each product under Settings > Products. A schema's payments and trigger dates can't be changed after you save it, so check them first.
Who can do this: Admins whose permission group includes Settings Milestones and Products (view, add, edit). Payroll-only SequiPay accounts do not have Milestones or Products. A full Sequifi account using SequiPay for payments can still have them. Mortgage companies see Loan instead of Sale.
Create a milestone schema
In the Admin view, open Settings > Milestones and select Add New.
In Add New Milestone, enter the Schema Name and Schema Description.
For each milestone row (M1, M2 and so on), enter the Milestone Name and choose its Trigger Date. Use the plus button to add another milestone.
To add a trigger date that isn't in the list, select + Add new in the dropdown, name it in Trigger date and select Save.
Check everything, then select Save.
"Once saved in the system, you cannot change payments or mapping details. If you wish to change a schema, please create a new one with the updated values."
Every schema ends with a Final Payment milestone. It's triggered by the M2 Date at most companies, the Final Payment date at solar companies, and the Service Completion Date at pest and fiber companies. If you see "You have reached milestone limit", every available trigger date is already in use.
The Milestones table shows each schema's Name, Description and No. of Payments. Audit Log shows changes.
Set up a product
Open Settings > Products and select Add New.
In Add New Product, enter the Name, the Product IDs (press Enter after each one) and a Description.
Choose the milestone schema in Select Milestone Schema. You can't change it after the product is created.
Set Clawback Exempt and Override Eligibility (see below).
Set the Effective Date and select Create. To change a product later, open Edit Product and select Update.
Field | What it does |
Clawback Exempt | None, or a milestone. "A job that reaches the selected milestone or beyond will not trigger a clawback deduction in the event of a cancel." |
Override Eligibility | The milestone at which all overrides except stack overrides go to payroll for this product. Stack overrides settle at the final milestone by default. |
Payment Split, Override Remainder, Stack Override Eligibility, Stack Split | Extra override timing settings. They appear only when your company's override setup uses them. Leaving Override Remainder empty pays the rest at the final milestone. |
How milestones pay out
A milestone's commission is Projected until its trigger date is set on the sale. Once the date is set, it can enter the applicable pay period. Payment still depends on payroll being processed and any holds or product rules.
If a sale is cancelled, unpaid milestones are removed and milestones that were already paid are clawed back on the next payroll. Lines marked Do Not Pay are never clawed back.
Clawback Exempt protects a cancelled sale only if the chosen milestone's date is set, isn't in the future, and the cancel date isn't earlier than it.
On the mobile app
Milestones and products can't be set up in the mobile app. Use a web browser.
Common questions
I need to change a schema's payments. How?
You can't edit them after saving. Create a new schema with the right values and use it on new products.
Does "Serviced" mean a sale can't be clawed back?
No. Only the product's Clawback Exempt milestone protects a sale.
Where do I set commission amounts?
On each position's pay setup. See Create and manage departments and positions.
