Understand your commissions: summary, milestones and your commission plan

What the Commission page totals mean, how to read a sale's milestone lines, and where to see your commission plan.

Open My Earnings and select Commission to see your commissions. The Commissions Summary at the top totals your commission by pay status, and every sale in the table expands to show its milestones: what each one pays, its pay period and pay date, and whether it has been paid.

Who can do this: Workers whose permission group includes the Commission page, for their own sales. Your company may have this page turned off. Mortgage companies see Loan instead of Sale.

The cards count the sales in the date range you pick (the default is Last 12 Months). Each card shows an amount and a number of accounts.

Card

What it means

Sales (or Loans)

The total value of all your sales in the date range, including cancelled ones.

Projected

"What you could earn, no date set yet." The milestone hasn't happened, so there is no pay date.

Pending

"Has a pay date, not paid out yet." Cancelled sales aren't counted here.

Paid

"Marked as paid in the system." This includes pay on sales that were cancelled later.

Clawbacks

"Pay taken back after cancellation." Shown as a negative amount.

Total Commissions

Projected, Pending, Paid and Clawbacks added together.

A line marked Do Not Pay is not counted in Pending or Paid. Your company chose not to pay it. See Pay statuses explained.

See how one sale's commission is paid

  1. Open My Earnings and select Commission.

  2. Choose a Date Range: Last 12 Months, Last 6 Months, Last 3 Months, Last Month, This Month or Custom. The range is based on the sale date.

  3. Find the sale. Use the Search box or the filter button (the funnel icon) to narrow the list.

  4. Select the commission amount or the arrow at the end of the row to expand it.

  5. Read each milestone line: Milestone, Date, Pay Period, Pay Date, Pay Status and Amount.

  6. Select Collapse All to close the rows you opened.

Clawback lines show in red with a negative amount. A cancelled sale shows in red with a commission of $0.00. If the lines don't load, you see "Couldn't load milestone details." Select Retry.

How milestones work

Your company pays commission in stages called milestones. Many companies call them M1 and M2, and the last one is a final payment, but the names and what they mean are set by your company.

  • Each milestone is tied to a date on the sale, such as an install or service date. Those dates usually come from your company's sales system.

  • Until that date is on the sale, the milestone is Projected.

  • Once the date is set, the milestone shows as Pending and gets a pay period. It also appears in Pending Pay for that pay period.

  • After that payroll runs, it shows as Paid and its Pay Date fills in.

How long a milestone takes depends on your company and the sale. Sequifi can't tell you when a milestone date will be set. Ask your company admin.

See your commission plan

  1. Select your photo or initials at the top right, then View Profile.

  2. Select the Commission tab.

The tab shows your commission for each product. Depending on your company it can also show upfront pay, redline (called Office Fee at mortgage companies), overrides and deductions. Commission can be set per sale, as a percent, or per KW (per Sq ft at turf, mortgage and roofing companies).

The tab is view-only. Only an admin can change your plan, using Update Employment Package. When they do, they choose when the change applies: to all open sales, from today, from a start date, or for a set time only.

On the mobile app

Tap Sales, then Commissions. You see PROJECTED COMMISSIONS, TOTAL COMMISSIONS and TOTAL SALES. Tap View All Commissions for the list, and tap a sale to see My Commission, with a line and an amount for each milestone. Amounts not earned yet show in orange. The app uses some different status words from the website. See Mobile: sales, commissions and overrides.

Common questions

Why is my commission still Projected?

The milestone's date isn't on the sale yet. Commission can't be scheduled for payroll until it is. Ask your admin about the sale's progress.

My commission amount looks wrong. What do I do?

A sale isn't in the list.

Widen the Date Range and clear the search and filters. If it's still missing, see A sale is missing or duplicated.
