Submit a request (advance, reimbursement, pay dispute and more)

How to submit a request on the website, which type to choose, what happens after you submit, and error messages.

To ask for an advance, a reimbursement, a bonus, time off or a pay correction, open Requests > My Requests on the website, select Add Request, choose the Type of Request, fill in the details and select Submit Request. Requests follow your company's approval process. Approved payment requests still need payroll handling; time-off and time-adjustment requests follow their own workflow.

Who can do this: Workers whose permission group includes Requests and Add Request. Managers and super admins can also submit a request for someone else. You can't submit a request in the mobile app.

Submit a request

  1. Open Requests and select My Requests. You can also use the Requests quick link on Home.

  2. Select Add Request. The Add Request window opens.

  3. Choose the Type of Request.

  4. If you're a manager or super admin filing for someone else, find them in Employee Selection. Everyone else skips this step: your request is always for you.

  5. Fill in the fields for that type. The form shows only the fields it needs.

  6. Add a Description. It's required for Leave(Unpaid), PTO and Time Adjustment, and your company may require it for every type.

  7. If you have a receipt or other proof, attach it under Supporting images or documents (maximum 50MB each).

  8. Select Submit Request.

For every type, see Request types explained. If your pay for the upcoming payroll looks wrong and you see Request Review on Pending Pay, use that instead of a Payroll Dispute.

What happens after you submit

  • The request starts as Pending and goes to your manager. If you have no manager, or your company skips manager approval, it goes to your company's admins.

  • Your manager is notified in Sequifi. No email is sent when you submit.

  • When your manager approves it, it shows Approved. That's not paid yet: an admin still has to add it to a payroll or pay it.

  • You can't edit, cancel or delete a request after you submit it. If you made a mistake, ask your manager to decline it, then submit a new one.

Follow it on My Requests. See Request statuses and what happens next.

On the mobile app

You can't create a request in the app. Use a web browser, including your phone's: go to your company's Sequifi site, sign in with the same email and password, and follow the steps above. After you submit, you can track the request in the app under Requests. See Mobile: track requests and approve them.

Troubleshooting

Message or problem

What it means

No Add Request button, or no Requests menu

Your permission group doesn't include it. Ask your admin.

"Apologies, This request cannot be created because the pay period has already been closed"

The request falls in a pay period that has already been closed. Check the dates you entered, or ask your admin.

"Apologies, This request cannot be create because the PTO hour greater than PTO balance"

You asked for more PTO hours than you have. Lower the hours.

"Amount exceeds the available commission to advance ($X) for this account."

Your Advance against an Account is more than you can borrow on that sale.

"You have been terminated" or "You have been disabled"

Your account can't submit requests. Contact your company admin.

For admins

Admins pay approved requests in the Admin view under Payroll > Payment Request. You can also add a request for a worker on the Run Payroll page with Add Request, while that payroll is not yet finalized.
