Job status vs payment status on a sale

What Pending, Serviced, Cancelled and Clawback mean for a sale, and how that differs from the pay status of your commission.

Every sale has a job status that describes the sale itself: Pending, Serviced, Cancelled or Clawback. Each commission and override line on the sale also has its own pay status: Projected, Pending, Paid, Clawback or Do Not Pay. They're separate. A sale can be Serviced while your pay on it is still Pending.

Who can do this: Anyone who can see sales: workers on My Earnings > Commission, managers with report access on Reports > Sales, and admins on Reports > Sales in the Admin view. Mortgage companies see Loan instead of Sale.

Job status

Sequifi works out the job status from the sale's records. The first rule that matches wins:

Job status

When a sale has it

Clawback

Pay on the sale has been clawed back. This outranks Cancelled.

Cancelled

The sale has a cancel date.

Serviced

At least one milestone date is set, such as the first install or service date. It doesn't mean every milestone is done.

Pending

None of the above yet.

When a status comes in from your company's other systems, its words are matched: "serviced", "service", "completed", "complete" and "active" become Serviced; "cancelled", "canceled", "cancel" and "inactive" become Cancelled; "clawback" and "chargeback" become Clawback; anything else becomes Pending.

On My Earnings > Commission the column is Status. On the admin Reports > Sales page it's Job Status (or Status at mortgage and some other companies).

Payment status

For your own pay, expand the sale on the Commission or Override page. Each milestone line shows its Pay Status:

  • Projected: no milestone date yet, so no pay date.

  • Pending: not paid yet. Its Pay Date can remain blank until payroll runs.

  • Paid: marked as paid in Sequifi.

  • Clawback: taken back after the sale was cancelled.

  • Do Not Pay: your company chose not to pay it.

The admin Reports > Sales page also has a Payment Status column for the whole sale: Paid, Clawed Back or a dash if neither applies. It isn't a bank confirmation. See Pay statuses explained.

Serviced doesn't mean safe from a clawback

A Serviced sale can still be clawed back if it's cancelled. Your company protects a sale only if it reached the product's Clawback Exempt milestone before it was cancelled. See Why did I get a clawback?

On the mobile app

The app uses different words. The Account Sales card groups sales as Pending, Completed (the same as Serviced) and Cancelled. The commission list filter uses Pending, Paid, Awaiting Payment and Cancelled. See Mobile: sales, commissions and overrides.

Common questions

The job is finished but the sale still says Pending.

The milestone date hasn't reached Sequifi yet. Sale dates come from your company's sales data, so ask your company admin to check the sale.

The sale is Serviced but I haven't been paid.

Job status and pay status are separate. Expand the sale to see each milestone's pay status and pay date. See When will I get paid?
