Understanding Account Status

Every account in Sequifi has a status that tells you where it stands in the sales and completion process, helping you know what to expect for your earnings.

When to Use This

  • You want to understand what a specific account status means

  • You're wondering why you haven't been paid on an account yet

  • You need to know which accounts are at risk of canceling

  • You want to track which accounts are moving through the pipeline

  • You're trying to understand why a clawback appeared on your pay

How Account Status Works

When you make a sale, that account moves through several stages before it's fully complete. Each stage has a status that tells you and your company where the account stands. Your commissions are often tied to these statuses, meaning you get paid when an account reaches certain milestones.

Understanding these statuses helps you:

  • Know when to expect payment

  • Identify accounts that might need follow-up

  • Understand why clawbacks happen

  • Track your overall pipeline health

Common Account Statuses

Here are the most common statuses you'll see in Sequifi and what each one means:

Sold / New

The account has been submitted as a sale but hasn't started the installation or service process yet. At this stage:

  • The customer has agreed to purchase

  • Paperwork may still be processing

  • Installation or service hasn't been scheduled yet

  • You typically haven't been paid yet (unless your company pays on sold status)

What to do: Follow up to make sure the account moves forward. Accounts that sit in "Sold" status too long may be at risk of canceling.

Pending

The account is in progress but not yet complete. This is a broad status that means:

  • The account is somewhere between sold and fully complete

  • Installation or service may be scheduled but hasn't happened yet

  • Some initial work may have started

  • You may have received partial payment (M1) but are waiting on the rest

What to do: Keep an eye on pending accounts. Check in with your manager or the operations team if an account has been pending for a long time.

Initial Service / M1

The account has reached its first major milestone. Depending on your industry, this might mean:

  • Installation has begun

  • Initial service has been delivered

  • The first phase of work is complete

At this stage:

  • You typically receive your M1 (Milestone 1) payment

  • The account is progressing but not fully complete

  • There's still work to be done before final completion

What to do: This is good progress. Continue monitoring until the account reaches full completion.

Installed / Serviced / Complete

The account is fully finished. This means:

  • All work has been completed

  • The customer is fully set up and active

  • You receive your final payment (M2 or final service payment)

  • The account is no longer at risk of standard cancellation clawbacks

What to do: Celebrate! This account has successfully completed. Your full commission should now be paid or in pending pay.

Canceled

The account did not complete and has been canceled. This can happen for many reasons:

  • The customer changed their mind

  • Financing fell through

  • The installation couldn't be completed

  • The customer requested cancellation

When an account cancels:

  • If you were already paid, you'll experience a clawback (the commission is taken back)

  • The account will show in red on your sales list

  • It will no longer contribute to your projected earnings

What to do: Review why the account canceled. Understanding cancellation reasons can help you avoid similar situations in the future. If you believe the cancellation was an error, talk to your manager.

Clawback

This isn't exactly a status, but you'll see it referenced when an account cancels after you've been paid. A clawback means:

  • You previously received commission on this account

  • The account canceled or didn't complete as required

  • The commission is being deducted from your future pay

Clawbacks appear as deductions on your pay stub and reduce your overall earnings.

What to do: Review the clawback to understand which account it's tied to. If you think there's an error, submit a payroll dispute through the Requests & Approvals section.

Where to See Account Status

You can check the status of your accounts in several places:

In My Sales

  1. Go to "My Earnings" in the left-hand menu.

  2. Click on "My Sales."

  3. Scroll down to the customer info section.

  4. Look at the "Milestone Status" column. This shows the current status of each account.

In Account Details

  1. From your sales list, click on a PID number.

  2. Review the job details section. You'll see the current status along with milestone dates showing when each stage was reached.

In the Account Status Overview

  1. On the My Sales page, look for the circle graph.

  2. This shows a visual breakdown of how many accounts are in each status category.

How Status Affects Your Pay

Your pay is directly tied to account status. Here's how it typically works:

Status

Payment Impact

Sold / New

Usually no payment yet

Pending

May have partial payment (M1) or none yet

Initial Service / M1

M1 payment is triggered

Installed / Complete

M2 or final payment is triggered

Canceled

Clawback if previously paid

The exact timing depends on your company's pay structure. Some companies pay a portion upfront at sale, while others wait until specific milestones are reached.

Understanding the Sales Pipeline Visual

On the My Sales page, you'll see a circle graph that breaks down your accounts by status. This gives you a quick visual of your pipeline health:

  • Large portion in Installed/Serviced – Good sign. Most of your accounts are completing.

  • Large portion in Pending – You have accounts in progress. Monitor them to ensure they complete.

  • Any portion in Canceled – These accounts didn't complete. Review why and work to reduce cancellations.

The graph also shows your service ratio or install ratio, which is the percentage of sold accounts that successfully complete. A higher ratio means more of your sales turn into actual earnings.

Tips and Common Mistakes

  • Check status before expecting payment. If you're wondering why you haven't been paid on an account, the first thing to check is its status. You won't receive payment until the account reaches the required milestone.

  • Pending doesn't mean there's a problem. Accounts naturally spend time in pending status as they move through the process. Only be concerned if an account has been pending for an unusually long time.

  • Canceled accounts affect your pay. If an account cancels after you've been paid, expect a clawback. This is why it's important to sell to qualified customers and follow up to ensure accounts complete.

  • Red text means canceled. When viewing your sales list, accounts shown in red have canceled. These won't contribute to your earnings.

  • Light blue numbers are projections. Projected earnings are based on pending accounts. They become actual earnings only when the account completes.

  • Status can change. An account that's pending today might complete tomorrow, or it might cancel. Keep an eye on your accounts and address any issues quickly.

  • Ask about stuck accounts. If an account has been in the same status for a long time without moving forward, talk to your manager or operations team to find out what's happening.
