Understanding Milestones
Milestones are key points in an account's journey that trigger actions, especially payments. Here's what each milestone typically means:
M1 (Milestone 1) The first payment milestone. This is usually triggered when:
The account passes initial verification
Installation or service begins
A certain percentage of work is complete
When M1 is reached, you receive your first commission payment (often a percentage of the total, like 50% or 70%).
M2 (Milestone 2) The second and usually final payment milestone. This is triggered when:
The account is fully installed or serviced
All work is complete
The customer is fully activated
When M2 is reached, you receive your remaining commission (the other 50% or 30%, depending on your structure).
Initial Service The date when work actually begins on the account. This might be when:
The installation crew arrives
Service delivery starts
The first appointment is completed
Final Service / Completion The date when everything is finished. The customer is fully set up and the job is done.
Viewing Payment Information
The account details page shows you exactly when you were paid or will be paid.
Look at the milestone dates section. Each milestone shows two pieces of information:
The date the milestone was reached
The payroll date when payment was processed
Hover over the payment date for more details. When you hover over the date, you'll see additional information about which payroll period included this payment.
Check if payments are complete or pending.
If a milestone shows a payroll date, you've been paid for that milestone
If a milestone shows a date but no payroll date, the payment is pending
If a milestone is blank, the account hasn't reached that stage yet
Viewing Worker Information
The account details page shows who is earning commissions on this account.
Look for the worker section. This shows the sales reps attached to the account.
Review the roles:
Closer – The rep who closed the sale
Setter – The rep who set the appointment (if applicable)
Sales Rep – The primary rep on the account (if there's no setter/closer split)
See the commission breakdown. For each worker, you can see:
Their position
Their commission percentage or structure
How much they're earning on this account
Viewing Override Information
Below the worker information, you'll see who is earning overrides on this account.
Look for the account overrides section. This lists everyone earning an override on this sale.
Review the override details:
Recipient – Who is receiving the override
Type – What kind of override (direct, indirect, office, manual, etc.)
Amount or Percentage – How much they're earning
Total – The dollar amount of the override
This helps you understand how commission dollars are being distributed across the organization for this account.
Viewing Notes
Accounts may have notes attached with additional information.
Look for the notes section. This shows any notes that have been added to the account.
Review the notes for context. Notes might include:
Special instructions
Customer requests
Issues or concerns
Follow-up information
Notes help everyone involved with the account understand its history and any special circumstances.
Accessing Account Details as a Manager or Admin
If you have manager or admin access, you can view account details for any rep in your organization.
From the Sales Report (Admin)
Make sure you're in admin view. Click "Switch to Admin" in the upper right corner if needed.
Click on "Reports" in the left-hand menu.
Click on "Sales." This shows all accounts across the company.
Find the account you want to view. Use filters to narrow down by rep, office, date, or status.
Click on the PID number. This opens the full account details, including all worker and override information.
Additional Admin Details
As an admin, the account details page shows additional information:
Red lines – Special commission rates or exceptions for this account
Commission percentages – The exact rates being applied
Full override structure – Every person earning on this account and their amounts
Edit capabilities – The ability to modify account information if needed
Tips and Common Mistakes
Check milestone dates to understand payment timing. If you're waiting on a payment, look at which milestone the account has reached. You won't be paid until the required milestone is hit.
Hover for more information. Many fields show additional details when you hover over them. This is especially useful for payment dates and milestone information.
Use PID numbers when asking questions. If you need to ask your manager or support about a specific account, reference the PID number. This makes it easy for everyone to find the exact account you're discussing.
Understand the difference between milestone date and payment date. The milestone date is when the account reached that stage. The payment date is when you actually received the money on payroll. These can be different depending on your payroll schedule.
Review canceled accounts to understand clawbacks. If you have a clawback, click into the account to see when it was canceled and review the details. This helps you understand what happened.
Notes can provide valuable context. If an account has issues or special circumstances, there may be notes explaining the situation. Always check notes when reviewing a problematic account.
