Documents You May Need to Sign
Depending on your company's setup, you may be asked to sign:
Rep Agreement or Contractor Agreement Your main employment document that outlines:
Your position and responsibilities
Commission structure and payment terms
Length of the agreement
Company policies and expectations
Termination conditions
W-9 Tax Form An IRS form that provides your taxpayer identification information. This is used to prepare your 1099 at year end.
Background Check Authorization If your company requires background checks, this form authorizes them to conduct the check.
Addendums Additional documents that may cover:
Special bonus arrangements
Housing agreements
Non-compete clauses
Equipment agreements
Other company-specific terms
Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Accessing Documents During Onboarding
Complete the previous onboarding steps. You'll reach the documents section after entering personal, tax, and banking information.
View the list of documents requiring signature. You'll see each document that needs your review and signature.
Note which documents are mandatory. Required documents are typically marked. You must sign all mandatory documents to complete onboarding.
Reviewing a Document
Click on the first document in your list. The document opens for you to read.
Read through the entire document. Scroll down to see all pages and sections.
Take your time. Make sure you understand what you're agreeing to.
Note any questions. If something is unclear, you can ask your manager before signing.
Signing a Document Electronically
Look for the signature area. This is usually marked with text like "Click here to sign" or highlighted in some way.
Click on the signature area. A signature panel opens.
Create your electronic signature. Depending on the system, you may:
Type your name (it converts to a signature style)
Draw your signature using your mouse or finger
Select from pre-generated signature options
Review your signature. Make sure it looks correct.
Click "Apply" or "Accept." Your signature is added to the document.
Wait for processing. The system applies your digital signature. This may take a few moments. You'll see a loading indicator.
Confirmation appears. You'll see a message that the document has been signed successfully.
Completing Multiple Documents
After signing the first document, return to the document list. You may be taken back automatically, or you can click "Back" or "Next."
The signed document now shows as complete. Look for a checkmark or "Signed" status.
Click on the next document. Repeat the review and signing process.
Continue until all documents are signed. Each document needs to be signed individually.
Click "Save and Continue" when all documents are complete. You'll move to the final step of onboarding.
What Happens After Signing
Your signed documents are stored in Sequifi. They're attached to your profile for future reference.
You and your company both have access. You can view your signed documents anytime.
The documents are legally binding. Electronic signatures are legally valid, just like pen-and-paper signatures.
Accessing Signed Documents Later
After completing onboarding, you can view your signed documents:
Click on your initials in the upper right corner.
Select "View Profile."
Click on the "Documents" tab.
Find the document you want to view.
Click to open and review.
Download if needed. Look for a download button to save a copy to your device.
Understanding Common Documents
Rep Agreement
This is your primary contract. Key sections typically include:
Position and Duties What your role is and what you're expected to do.
Compensation How you'll be paid, including commission rates, overrides, and payment schedules.
Term How long the agreement lasts and how it can be renewed or terminated.
Confidentiality Obligations to keep company information private.
Non-Compete (if applicable) Restrictions on working for competitors.
Termination Conditions under which the agreement can be ended by either party.
W-9 Form
This IRS form collects:
Your legal name
Business name (if applicable)
Tax classification
Address
Taxpayer Identification Number (SSN or EIN)
The company uses this to prepare your 1099 tax form at year end.
Background Check Authorization
This form typically:
Authorizes the company to conduct a background check
Lists what types of checks may be performed
Confirms your identity information
Acknowledges your rights under applicable laws
Tips and Common Mistakes
Read before signing. Don't just scroll to the bottom and sign. Understand what you're agreeing to.
Ask questions first. If something is unclear, contact your manager before signing. Once signed, you're bound by the terms.
Be patient with processing. After clicking to sign, wait for the system to process. Don't click multiple times or refresh the page.
Use a stable connection. Poor internet can cause issues with document signing. Use a reliable WiFi connection if possible.
Complete all documents. You can't finish onboarding until all mandatory documents are signed.
Download copies. After onboarding, download copies of your signed documents for your personal records.
Check for additional pages. Some documents have multiple pages. Make sure you've scrolled through everything.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
The signature won't apply
Wait a few moments for processing

The document won't load

Common Questions
Are electronic signatures legally valid? Yes, electronic signatures are legally binding under federal and state laws, including the ESIGN Act and UETA.
Can I print and sign by hand instead? Generally no. Sequifi uses electronic signatures to streamline the process. All signing is done within the platform.
What if I disagree with something in a document? Contact your manager before signing. You may be able to discuss the terms or request clarification. Don't sign something you disagree with.
Can I get a copy of my signed documents? Yes, access them anytime through your profile's Documents tab. You can view and download them.
What happens if I don't sign all the documents? You won't be able to complete onboarding. Mandatory documents must be signed before you can access the full platform.
Can documents be changed after I sign? No, signed documents are locked. If terms need to change, a new document or addendum would be created.
