When to Use This

A rep is being promoted and needs a new agreement reflecting their new position
Commission structures are changing significantly and require a new contract
You need to update agreement terms that can't be changed through a simple edit
A rep's circumstances have changed enough to warrant a fresh agreement
Who Can Resign Reps
Resigning reps requires admin-level access. Managers may have limited ability to initiate resignings depending on their permissions.
Resign vs. Update Employment Package
Use Resign when:
You need a completely new contract signed
It's time for annual renewals
Major changes require a fresh agreement
The rep needs to formally acknowledge new terms
Use Update Employment Package when:
You're making minor adjustments
No new signature is required
You're changing commission rates, transfers, or organization
The existing agreement remains in effect
Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Finding the Rep to Resign
Make sure you're in admin view. Click "Switch to Admin" in the upper right corner if needed.
Access the rep's profile using one of these methods:
Option A: Through User Management
Click the gear icon in the upper right corner
Select "User Management"
Search for the rep by name
Click on their name to open their profile
Option B: Through Management
Click "Management" in the left-hand menu
Click "Personnel"
Find the rep in the list
Click on their name to open their profile
Starting the Resign Process
With the rep's profile open, look at the upper right corner. You'll see two buttons: "Update Employment Package" and "New Contract."
Click "New Contract." This initiates the resign process.
Read the confirmation message. The system reminds you that this rep already has an active contract and you're creating a new one.
Click "Yes" to proceed. The resign workflow begins.
Step 1: Verify Details
Review the rep's personal information. Verify their name, email, and phone number are correct.
Update the office location if needed. If they're moving to a different office, select the new one.
Check the state assignment.
Make any necessary corrections.
Click "Next" or "Save and Continue."
Step 2: Update Organization
Review or change their position. If they're being promoted or changing roles, select the new position.
Update their manager if needed. Select a new manager if their reporting structure is changing.
Adjust team assignment if applicable.
Review recruiter information. This typically stays the same but can be updated.
Add or remove additional recruiters if needed.
Click "Save and Continue."
Step 3: Set Up Commissions
Review their commission structure. Update percentages if they're changing.
Adjust product-specific commissions. If rates vary by product, update each one.
Update upfront pay amounts if applicable.
Modify override percentages if their role includes overrides.
Review tier structures if applicable.
Click "Save and Continue."
Step 4: Set Agreement Terms
Select a probationary period (if applicable). For resignings, this is often set to "None" since they're an existing rep.
Add a hiring bonus (if applicable). Some companies offer re-signing bonuses. If so:
Check the box to include a bonus
Enter the amount
Select when it will be paid
Set the agreement period.
Start Date Select when the new agreement begins. This is typically the day after the current agreement ends, or the first day of the new year.
Important: You cannot select a date in the past. The system only allows future dates.
End Date If your company uses term agreements:
Select when this new agreement will end (typically one year from start)
Leave blank for indefinite agreements
Confirm the agreement period. The system may ask you to confirm the dates, especially if there's a gap or overlap with the current agreement.
Set the offer expiry date. Give the rep a deadline to sign the new agreement. For example, two weeks from now.
Click "Save and Continue."
Step 5: Select Documents
Review the documents that will be included. The new agreement package typically includes:
Updated rep agreement
Any relevant addendums
Add additional documents if needed. If there are special addendums for this rep (bonus structures, special terms), add them.
Remove documents that don't apply.
Click "Save and Continue."
Step 6: Review and Send
Review all the information you've entered. The system shows a summary of:
Personal details
Organization (position, manager, office)
Commission structure
Agreement terms
Documents to be sent
Verify everything is correct. Double-check all details before sending.
Enter your name. Acknowledge that you're submitting this resign.
Check the acknowledgment box. Confirm that all information is correct.
Click "Send New Offer." The new agreement is sent to the rep.
Confirm the offer was sent. Look for the success message in the upper right corner.
What Happens Next
The rep receives an email. They're notified that a new agreement is ready for their review and signature.
They log in to Sequifi. Using their existing credentials.
They review the new terms. They can see their updated position, commission structure, and agreement details.
They sign the new documents. Electronic signature process, similar to initial onboarding.
The new agreement takes effect. On the start date you specified.
Their profile updates. The new terms are reflected in their account.
Tips and Common Mistakes
Time it correctly. Send resignings with enough time for reps to review and sign before the new agreement needs to start.
Double-check commission rates. Mistakes in commission structures cause pay issues and require corrections.
Communicate with the rep. Let them know the resign is coming and explain any changes so they're not surprised.
Set realistic expiry dates. Give reps enough time to review but maintain urgency.
Review before sending. Take time on the review screen. It's easier to fix mistakes before sending.
Don't overlap agreements. Make sure the new agreement starts after the old one ends, unless that's intentional.
Follow up on unsigned resignings. Track who hasn't signed and reach out to them.
Keep records. Note why resignings were done and what changed for future reference.
Common Questions
What's the difference between resigning and hiring a new rep? Resigning is for existing reps who already have a Sequifi account. They don't go through the full onboarding workflow again, just the document signing for their new agreement.
Can the rep reject the resign? They can choose not to sign. If they don't sign before the expiry date, follow up to discuss. Continued employment typically requires signing the new agreement.
What happens to their old agreement? The old agreement remains until the new one takes effect. Once the new agreement starts, it supersedes the old one.
Can I resign multiple reps at once? Resignings are done one at a time because each rep may have different terms. For bulk renewals, work through them systematically.
What if I made a mistake in the resign? If the rep hasn't signed yet, you may be able to cancel and resend. If they've already signed, you may need to use Update Employment Package to correct it.
Do reps need to re-enter their personal and banking information? No, their existing profile information is retained. They only need to review and sign the new documents.
