Change your direct deposit (web, phone browser, and why not in the app)

The app can't change your bank account. Change direct deposit and tax info in any browser, including your phone's.

You can't change your direct deposit in the Sequifi mobile app. Use a web browser instead (your phone's browser works): go to your company's Sequifi site, sign in, select your photo or initials at the top right, choose View Profile, open the Banking tab and select the pencil icon to edit.

Who can do this: Workers, for their own bank account and tax info.

Change your direct deposit in a browser

  1. In any web browser, go to your company's Sequifi site: https://yourworkspace.sequifi.com. Use the same Workspace you type in the app. For example, if you type acme in the app, go to https://acme.sequifi.com.

  2. Sign in with the same email and password you use in the app.

  3. Select your photo or initials at the top right of the page, then select View Profile.

  4. Open the Banking tab.

  5. In Banking Info, select the pencil icon.

  6. Update Name of Bank, Routing Number, Account Number, Confirm Account Number, Account Name and Type of Account (Checking or Savings).

  7. Select Save.

Account and routing numbers show masked after you save. History Log on the same section lists past changes.

Your pay date and which payroll uses the new account depend on your company. Ask your company's payroll admin if you need to know which payday the change applies to.

Change your tax info

Tax info is on the same profile, on the Tax Info tab. At most companies, select the pencil icon, enter your Social Security Number (contractors can instead set Entity Type to Business and enter Business Name, Business Type and EIN), and select Save.

If your Tax Info tab shows Update W-4 Form instead of a pencil, use that form to change your W-4. While a W-4 update is open, the tab shows Resume W-4 update and Cancel W-4 update, and you can't edit your banking until you finish or cancel it.

On the mobile app

The app's Profile screen (tap your photo or initials) shows your name, email and Workspace, plus Help & Support and Log Out. It has no banking, tax or personal info, so there is nothing to edit there. The "photo or initials, then View Profile" path above is on the website only.

The app asks for bank details only once, while you finish onboarding as a new worker:

  • At companies that pay through SequiPay on Sequifi, everyone sees one Tax & Banking step.

  • Elsewhere, 1099 contractors see Tax information and then Banking Information (Account Name, Bank Name, Routing Number, Account Number, Confirm Account Number, Account Type).

  • Anyone whose remaining steps can't be done in the app is sent to the browser with Continue in browser.

After onboarding, every banking or tax change happens in a browser.

Troubleshooting

What you see

What to do

"You have an incomplete W-4 update in progress. Please complete it in the Tax Info section before updating your bank information."

Open Tax Info, then Resume W-4 update to finish it or Cancel W-4 update. Then go back to Banking.

"Account numbers must match" (in the app during onboarding)

Type the same number in Account Number and Confirm Account Number.

No Banking tab on your web profile

Ask your company admin to check your profile.

You can't sign in on the website

Check that you're on your company's address (the Workspace from the app). See I can't sign in.

Will my company know I changed my bank account?

If your company turned on change alerts, your admins get an email that says which banking or tax fields changed. The email never includes the numbers.

For admins using View As

While viewing as another person, tax and banking details are hidden and can't be changed ("Tax and banking details are not available while viewing as another user.").
