Can't upload your ID or a document? Upload troubleshooting for new hires

Where each upload happens, accepted formats, the 2 MB limit, every upload error message, and what to do when the app cannot upload.

The Sequifi mobile app cannot upload onboarding documents such as an ID or license, so use a web browser (your phone's browser works). The optional profile photo in the app's Personal Details step is separate. Keep each file at 2 MB or smaller and use a common format such as JPG, PNG or PDF. If a phone photo is too big, take a screenshot of it and upload the screenshot.

Who this is for: Candidates and new hires uploading documents, and the company admins helping them.

Tips for ID photos

  • Use a valid (not expired) government-issued photo ID.

  • "Place your ID over a dark background in a well-lit area", "Take the picture in horizontal orientation" and "Avoid tilting the camera".

  • On a phone, a screenshot of the photo is usually well under 2 MB.

  • On the background check page, Save and Contiune stays gray until you've added both Front and Back. If one photo was rejected, pick a smaller one and try again.

  • If your ID photo still won't upload there, you can choose "Continue without uploading identification". The page says: "If needed, we will contact you for a picture of your photo ID to verify your information and proceed with the background check. Not having your photo ID may affect the completion of your background check."

Still can't upload?

  • Candidates: contact the person who sent your offer. The offer page has no chat.

  • New hires: tell your company admin which document it is and the exact message you see.

  • Admins: from the person's onboarding profile on Hiring > Onboarding, use Resend Offer, or resend one document from that profile's Documents tab.
