Permission groups and Company Admins

Edit permission groups under Permissions > Groups, assign them by position or person, and make someone a Company Admin.

What each person can see and do in Sequifi comes from their permission group. Edit groups in the Admin view under Permissions > Groups. People get a group from their position's Permission Group, or a Company Admin can set one person's group in User Management. Company Admins (super admins) also get Tools, User Management, Billing, Email Settings and View As, whatever their group.

Who can do this: Admins whose permission group includes Permissions > Groups (view, add, edit or delete). User Management, Add Admin and Make Company Admin are for Company Admins only.

Edit or create a permission group

  1. In the Admin view, open Permissions > Groups. The table shows Group Name, Policies, Members and Actions. Use Search groups... to find one.

  2. Open the group from Actions, or select New Group to create one and type its name in Enter Group Name.

  3. Tick the modules and actions the group needs in each section:

    • Administrator Policies: what members can do in the Admin view.

    • Standard Policies: what members can do in the Worker view.

    • Profile Policies: what members can see on other people's profiles. Use Select Accessible Positions to limit which positions' profiles they can open.

  4. Select Save Changes. The change applies to everyone in the group.

For people who are not Company Admins, the Admin tab appears in the Worker / Admin toggle only if their group includes Administrator policies, and the Worker tab only if it includes Standard policies.

The built-in groups (Super Admin, Admin, Manager, Standard and DISMISSED USER) can't be deleted, and no group can be deleted while it has members. Permissions > Policies is a read-only list of every permission.

Give someone a permission group

  • Through their position: each position has a Permission Group. To change it, open Settings > Positions and select Edit Permissions in the position's row menu.

  • For one person: a Company Admin selects the company name at the bottom of the Admin menu, then User Management, and changes the person's Permissions Group in their row.

Company Admins

"Company Admin" is what User Management calls a super admin. Company Admins start in the Admin view when they sign in and are the only people who see Tools, User Management, Billing, Email Settings and View As.

Make someone a Company Admin

  1. Select your company's name at the bottom of the Admin menu, then User Management.

  2. Open the person's row menu and select Make Company Admin. It isn't available until the person has finished their own onboarding.

To take it away, select Remove Company Admin.

Invite a new admin

In User Management, select Add Admin. Enter the First Name, Last Name, Email Id and Phone Number, choose a Permission, and select Send Invite.

User Management also has Audit Log, Archive Log and Export, and row actions to suspend or disable access. See Stop Payroll, Suspend Access or Disable User: which to use.

What "Is Manager" does

The Is Manager field on a worker's Organization tab doesn't add menu items. It lets the person approve their team's requests and see the Office Performance card on Home. Menus come only from the permission group.

On the mobile app

Permission groups and User Management aren't in the mobile app. Use a web browser. The app shows or hides Requests, Approvals and Hiring based on the same permission group.

Common questions

Someone sees "Not Permitted!" What does it mean?
"You do not have permission to view this page." means their permission group doesn't include that page. Add the permission to their group, or give them a different group.

Can I lock myself out?
Yes. Never move yourself into a group without Administrator policies, and don't remove your own Company Admin status. You'd lose the Admin view until another Company Admin restores it.

Can Sequifi Support change a person's permissions?
Your Company Admin controls who can see what. Sequifi Support can help you work out which permission a page needs.
