Key terms used in Sequifi

Plain definitions of the words on Sequifi screens: people and access, sales, pay statuses, requests, hiring and admin terms.

This glossary explains the words you'll see in Sequifi, using the labels on the screen. Your company can rename a few things (for example, mortgage companies see Loan instead of Sale), and some terms apply only if your company uses that feature.

Who can do this: Everyone. Terms marked (admins) describe admin-only tools.

People and access

  • Worker: anyone your company pays.

  • Employee: a W-2 worker.

  • Contractor: a 1099 worker. Most companies on Sequifi pay contractors.

  • Rep: a worker in a field-sales role.

  • User: anyone with a Sequifi login.

  • Permission group: the set of permissions that decides which menus, pages and buttons you see. Your job title doesn't. See Why can't I see a menu or feature?

  • Company Admin: also called a super admin. The only kind of user who sees Tools, User Management, Billing, Email Settings and View As.

  • Is Manager: a field on a worker's Organization tab. It lets that person approve their team's requests. It doesn't add menu items.

  • Worker view and Admin view: the two views of the web app. Switch with the Worker / Admin toggle at the top of the page.

  • Workspace: the first part of your company's Sequifi address (the acme in acme.sequifi.com). The mobile app asks for it when you sign in.

  • Add-on: a feature your company turns on separately, such as SequiDocs, S-Clearance or Clock In / Clock Out.

  • SequiDocs: Sequifi's add-on for document templates and e-signatures, such as offer letters and agreements.

  • S-Clearance: Sequifi's add-on for background checks and drug tests for new hires.

Sales

  • Sale: a customer job or deal. Mortgage companies see Loan instead of Sale. It is the same thing.

  • ID: the sale's identifier, shown in the ID column. Some screens call it a PID. It comes from your company's sales system.

  • Sale status: where the job itself stands, for example pending, serviced or cancelled. It is separate from pay status. See Understand sales status and payment status.

  • Milestone: a payment point your company defines, often named M1, M2 and so on. A milestone pays once its date is recorded on the sale. Your company decides which milestones it uses.

  • KW or Sq ft: the unit on a sale. Most companies use KW. Turf, mortgage and roofing companies use Sq ft.

  • Redline: a set rate that some commission plans are based on. Mortgage companies call it Office Fee. Not every company uses it.

Pay

  • Commission: what you earn on your own sales. Find it in My Earnings > Commission.

  • Override: pay you earn on other people's sales. Types are Direct, Indirect, Office, Stack, Manual and Manager. Direct overrides go to the selling rep's recruiter. Find them in My Earnings > Override.

  • Pending Pay: the page (titled "Pending Pay Breakdown") that shows what you are expected to be paid for the current open pay period. The amounts are anticipated, not final.

  • Verify Pay and Request Review: buttons on Pending Pay that appear when your admin sends pay for review. Verify Pay confirms your pay looks right. Request Review sends your admin a comment about what looks wrong.

  • Pay stub: the record of what a payroll paid you. My Earnings > Pay Stubs opens your latest one. Reports > Past Pay Stubs has the history.

  • One-Time Payment: a payment made outside a regular payroll. It has its own One-Time Payment tab on Past Pay Stubs.

  • Adjustments: the pay stub section where approved requests, such as bonuses, usually show.

  • Deductions & Accruals (D&A): the pay stub section for amounts your company deducts or accrues each pay period.

  • Additional Values: extra pay fields your company defines. Pay stub lists call them Additional Fields.

  • My Wages: your wage details, for hourly or salaried positions.

Pay statuses

Each payment line on Commission and Override shows one of these:

What it means

Projected

What you could earn. No pay date is set yet.

Pending

"Has a pay date, not paid out yet."

Paid

"Marked as paid in the system."

Clawback

Pay taken back after a sale is cancelled. It is taken from a later payroll.

Do Not Pay

A line your company chose to withhold. It is not Pending, and it is never clawed back.

Requests

  • Request: a way to ask for money or time off. Open Requests > My Requests and select Add Request.

  • Request types: Payroll Dispute, Reimbursement, Bonus, General Advance, Advance against an Account, Incentive, Leave(Unpaid), PTO, Time Adjustment, and Sick Time (W-2 employees only). Managers and Company Admins can also choose Fine/fee. There is no Draw request type.

  • Advance against an Account: an advance tied to one sale. It can't be more than the commission still available on that sale.

  • Outstanding Advances: the card on My Requests that shows advances you haven't repaid yet.
